Overhead Travelling Cranes

The overhead travelling cranes are the most frequently designed and delivered by Protea. Their modular structure enables easy transport and assembly.
As the alternative for overhead travelling cranes we can offer suspension (underslung) cranes with mostly lower lifting capacity and sizes. Their huge advantage is ability to travel on the lower flanges of rolled profiles, which serve as rails of the cranes.

Portal/Gantry cranes
Another interesting position in our offer are the light weight portal/gantry cranes for indoor or outdoor operation. Generally, we offer power-driven devices but we also provide manually-driven equipment. Some may be highly specialized in performing specific tasks.

Оverhead Travelling Crane

We deliver suspension transport systems consisting of lower lifting capacity cranes up to 2000 kg together with rails fitted under the hall roof. In many cases this is the simplest and the cheapest solution for short distance transport, beginning from the least complicated monorail systems over a workplace to the very sophisticated technological transportation systems.

Other Lifting Equipment
Besides the mentioned types of the cranes, we can also deliver other lifting devices and equipment tailored to our Customers’ needs, for example: technological transport systems specialized lifting beams for cranes, pulling winches, hanging platforms, etc.

Modernizations, Renovations And Other Services

PROTEA can also render services to our Clients in the area of modernization and repair of the existing lifting devices.
In the electrical part we offer, among others:
• changing the control system of a device (e.g. pendant, radio remote, cab),
• installation of additional equipment in the existing control system (e.g. anti-collision devices, weighing devices, signal and light, etc.),
• replacement of the old electric equipment with the latest one according to the Customer’s wish, without affecting the mode of functioning of such equipment,
• changing the way of functioning of a device by designing a new control system (also with application of PLCs, frequency converters, etc.),
• changing of the power supply system in a device (cable trolleys, cable reels, conductor rails, etc.).


In the mechanical part we offer, among others:
• modernization of hoisting machinery,
• modernization of travelling machinery (for example: from the central drive system to the individual drive system, from the manual drive to the electric drive, etc.),
• FEM strength analysis and possibly strengthening of the construction of a crane (for example in order to increase its lifting capacity),
• recovery of full functional capacities of a device and securing its reliability,
• construction of additional service platforms.
